Slaven Bilic "really pleased" with West Ham United performance

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic declares himself "really pleased" with his side's goalless draw with Swansea, despite the result extending their winless streak to seven.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has declared himself "really pleased" with his side's performance in their goalless draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

The Hammers recorded a third consecutive 0-0 draw to extend their winless run to seven Premier League matches, although they have not lost any of their last four.

Bilic believes that their recent performances have been encouraging considering the club's injury list, and he was once again delighted with the way his side defended this afternoon.

"I want to praise the team and I want to praise the players, especially as it was a team effort. If you remember what I said three or four weeks ago when the injuries hit us, I said the only way we could compensate was by producing a team performance and that is exactly what we have done in the last three games," he told West Ham TV.

"We defended really good as a team, apart from in the first 20 minutes when we were a little bit sloppy. After that, we were really good and I'm proud of the team. To be fair, with no disrespect to any player it is all about the squad and that's why we got a point, but the question is can we play much better with [Andy] Carroll, without [Dimitri] Payet, without [Manuel] Lanzini, without [Diafra] Sakho and without [Victor] Moses? It's too much.

"The guys played really well and put in great effort to gain a point and that's why I am really pleased with the performance from the team."

Despite not having won since October, West Ham remain just four points adrift of the Champions League places.
