Manuel Lanzini to make quick return from injury?

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold reveals that Manuel Lanzini could return from a thigh injury as soon as next weekend.

West Ham United could be given an injury boost after co-chairman David Gold confirmed that the club are hopeful of having midfielder Manuel Lanzini back from a thigh injury next weekend.

The Argentine midfielder was initially expected to miss up to six weeks with the problem picked up in training, adding to a long injury list which includes Dimitri Payet, Diafra Sakho and Victor Moses.

However, Gold tweeted on Saturday that manager Slaven Bilic was hopeful of having the 22-year-old available for selection again as soon as for next weekend's clash with struggling Swansea City.

Lanzini, who is on loan at the Hammers from Al Jazira Club, has scored four goals in 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

West Ham are currently eighth in the Premier League table after drawing 0-0 with Stoke City at home on Saturday.
