Mark Noble: 'We must dig in without Andy Carroll'

Mark Noble believes that the West Ham United squad must "dig in" to pick up results while Andy Carroll serves his suspension.

Mark Noble has claimed that the West Ham United squad must "dig in" to pick up a win over Aston Vila while Andy Carroll begins his three-game suspension.

Carroll played a key role in the victory over Swansea City last Saturday before being sent off for an incident involving Chico Flores, and Noble believes that his teammates must all play a crucial part if they are to claim another positive result at Villa Park.

"Andy being suspended is obviously a massive miss for us," the midfielder told the club's official website. "For him to be back the way he was and then to miss him for another three games is going to be tough, but we have to dig in and get results without him.

"Everyone will have to play their part to try and get us three points away from home."

West Ham are considering taking legal action over the FA's decision to reject Carroll's appeal against the red card.
