Kevin Nolan: 'We can finish in the top 10'

West Ham United skipper Kevin Nolan feels that there is no reason why his side can not finish in the top 10 of the Premier League this season.

West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan has insisted that his side have the ability to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League this season.

The Hammers lost for the third time in the campaign as they were defeated 2-1 by Manchester United in their clash at Old Trafford.

However, Nolan feels that there were plenty of positives to take from the display, and insists that - with several players scheduled to return from injury - there's no reason why they can't finish in the top half.

Nolan told reporters: "We have to get into the top 10 – that is a realistic aim. We still have a lot of injuries – Andy Carroll, Mark Noble, Matt Jarvis, Joey O'Brien – and I've just come back, as has Carl Jenkinson.

"I'm gutted but there are lots of positives to take away. I'm just hoping we continue to play the way we have done over the last few weeks.

"If we do that we will get the results we deserve. We just have to eradicate the sloppy mistakes this year if we want to be successful."

West Ham are currently 12th in the Premier League with seven points from six matches.
