West Ham United confirm Enner Valencia deal

Enner Valencia will join West Ham United upon the granting of a work permit, the Premier League side confirm.

Premier League side West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Ecuador striker Enner Valencia, pending the successful granting of a work permit.

Reports emerged on Wednesday that West Ham would confirm the signing in a £15m deal, and they have now made the news official on their website.

"West Ham United are delighted to announce that exciting Ecuador international forward Enner Valencia will become the club's fifth summer signing, subject to a successful work permit hearing," the statement said.

"Valencia, who impressed hugely in scoring three goals for his country at the World Cup finals in Brazil, will join West Ham on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee."

Mauro Zarate, Cheikhou Kouyate, Aaron Creswell and Diego Poyet are the club's previous summer signings.
