West Ham United 'in the hunt for Dutch striker Wout Weghorst'

A report claims that West Ham United are in the running to sign Netherlands international Wout Weghorst from AZ this summer.

AZ striker Wout Weghorst has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United.

The 25-year-old is coming off the back of a season that saw him net 18 goals in 31 Eredivisie outings, seeing him rewarded with his first three Netherlands caps.

Weghorst could be on the move this summer, though, as Dutch outlet RTV Oost suggests that he is '99% likely' to be sold for a big profit.

West Ham are said to be interested in recruiting the towering frontman as part of their big summer spending spree, as are German side Wolfsburg.

AZ are said to have already lined up a replacement ahead of their vice-captain's imminent departure.
