Ian Holloway hints at Wigan Athletic, Barnsley, Portsmouth interest

Ian Holloway hints that he would be open to speaking to Wigan Athletic, Barnsley and Portsmouth about their vacant managerial positions.

Ian Holloway has said that he is ready to return to management nearly six weeks after leaving Crystal Palace.

The 50-year-old departed Selhurst Park in October claiming that he felt "drained both mentally and physically" after guiding the Eagles to just one win in eight in the Premier League.

"I'm back and ready to go," Holloway announced in his role as a BT Sport pundit for this evening's clash between his former club and West Ham United.

The former Blackpool boss remained tight-lipped when pressed about the rumours linking him with Wigan Athletic, and also mentioned other clubs that he considers a possibility.

"Wigan are a wonderful club, Barnsley are a wonderful club, Portsmouth are a wonderful club - but it's getting the right chairman," he explained.

"I want to play a certain way and help a club progress."

Owen Coyle was sacked by Latics chairman Dave Whelan on Sunday.
