Wigan Athletic defender Emmerson Boyce believes that Arouna Kone's goals will keep the club in the top flight this season.

Wigan Athletic defender Emmerson Boyce is confident that teammate Arouna Kone can fire the club into safety by the end of the season.

The Latics striker pushed the North West outfit out of the Premier League relegation zone on Saturday courtesy of a 1-0 win over Norwich City at the DW Stadium.

"Arouna's goals are making a huge difference," ESPN quotes Boyce as saying. "And when you're in this sort of situation what you need most is someone who can score crucial goals, and we've got that in Arouna.

"He's come into great form at the right time of the season, just when we needed him to. He's our strike weapon, and he's on fire at the moment."

Kone has netted 10 goals for Wigan so far in their campaign.
