Wigan Athletic must beat Arsenal and Aston Villa over the coming days to stay in the Premier League.

FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic must win their remaining two Premier League fixtures if they are to retain their status as a top flight club.

Today's results mean that Roberto Martinez's team, who did not play because of yesterday's final at Wembley, are four points adrift in 18th place.

Consequently, they must take maximum points from Tuesday's trip to Arsenal and next Sunday's meeting with fellow strugglers Aston Villa to secure their place for next season.

Due to goal difference, realistically only Wigan, Villa or Sunderland can now be relegated.
