Everton duo join Wigan Athletic on loan

Wigan Athletic confirm the signing of Francisco Junior and Jonjoe Kenny on loan from Everton.

Wigan Athletic manager Gary Caldwell has secured the loan signings of Everton pair Francisco Junior and Jonjoe Kenny.

Junior, 23, is a product of Benfica's youth academy and has joined the Latics for one month, while 18-year-old Kenny will spend two months at the DW Stadium.

"In both cases, it's up to the players to impress us and create the competition in the squad which every successful team needs, and then we will assess their progress," Caldwell told the club's official website.

Wigan begin life in League One with a trip to the Ricoh Arena to face Coventry City on Saturday August 8.
