Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Gabriel Obertan on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Obertan most recently played for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, but was released from the club at the end of last year following a change of ownership.
The 27-year-old winger has previous experience of English football from his time with Manchester United and Newcastle United, and worked with Wigan boss Warren Joyce during his Old Trafford stint.
"He adds great experience to the squad and offers us another option in the wide areas. He's a top professional with great quality," Joyce told the club's official website.
Obertan becomes Wigan's fifth signing of a busy deadline day following the arrivals of Matt Gilks, Alex Bruce, James Weir and Mikael Mandron.
