Dieter Hecking: 'SC Paderborn can avoid relegation'

Wolfsburg boss Dieter Hecking is confident that upcoming opponents Paderborn are strong enough to collect the points that they need to avoid relegation.

Wolfsburg head coach Dieter Hecking has insisted that SC Paderborn can stay in the Bundesliga ahead of Sunday's meeting between the two sides.

Paderborn are looking to climb out of the relegation zone by avoiding defeat against Wolfsburg, who currently sit in third place, and Hecking believes that Andre Breitenreiter's side are good enough to claim the results that they need over the next three games.

"Their overall package is sufficient [to stay up]," he told reporters. "They are very engaged and cover a lot of ground, never holding back in the tackles.

"Furthermore, they have a high footballing quality, particularly down the wings and from set pieces.

"It may be surprising for many that Paderborn are still in the running, but not for me."

Paderborn have lost just one of their last four games.
