Wolverhampton Wanderers learn potential Europa League opponents

Wolverhampton Wanderers will face Crusaders or Torshavn in the Europa League qualifiers.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been drawn to face either Crusaders or Torshavn in the Europa League qualifiers next month.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have qualified for the competition courtesy of a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, marking the first time they have played on the European stage in 39 years.

Wolves will enter at the second qualifying stage, and in today's draw, their opponents were confirmed as either Northern Irish side Crusaders or Torshavn of the Faroe Islands.

The home leg was confirmed to be first - at Molineux on Thursday, July 25 - with the return a week later on August 1.

Should Wolves make it through to the next stage, they will face a further four games on Thursdays throughout August in order to reach the group stage.

Elsewhere, Rangers will face either Cork City, Luxembourg's Progres Niederkorn or Cardiff Met if they make it through the first qualifying round - a tie against either Kosovan side Prishtina or St Joseph's of Gibraltar.

Aberdeen will take on Finnish side RoPS in the first qualifying round before facing either Fola Esch of Luxembourg or Chikhura Sachkhere of Georgia.

Kilmarnock, meanwhile, go up against Connah's Quay Nomads in the first round then face a tough tie against Serbian side Partizan.

The draw for the third round, which will see the likes of Braga, Feyenoord and Sparta Prague enter the competition, will take place on July 22.
