A Bakary Sako free kick shortly before half-time has given Wolverhampton Wanderers a 1-0 lead over Sheffield Wednesday at the break.
The hosts started the brighter, firing early warning shots through Michail Antonio and Chris O'Grady, who dragged a strike wide in the third minute.
Kevin Doyle had a chance for Wolves four minutes later, but the striker shot wide form outside of the area.
Wolves took the lead just minutes before the half-time whistle when Sako hit the back of the net directly from a free kick after Jermaine Johnson felled Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
Sako's strike separates the two sides going to the break in a game where clear-cut chances have been few and far between.
