Ivan Cavaleiro: 'I've had to adapt to life in England'

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Ivan Cavaleiro admits that he is taking time to adapt to life in England.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Ivan Cavaleiro has said that he is still in the "adaptation stage" at Molineux.

Cavaleiro has spent much of his early time in English football on the substitutes' bench but he has produced his best form for the club under new boss Paul Lambert.

However, while Cavaleiro claims that he is ready to show his quality in the Championship, he has admitted that he is still getting used to the pace of the second tier of English football.

The 23-year-old told Record: "I feel I'm still in the adaptation stage, because English football is different from Portuguese in terms of aggressiveness and intensity, and also the referees. The English do not give so many free kicks, they do not give much importance to the pushes.

"I come from a difficult injury and as such I haven't many minutes of play yet, I am better physically and I feel ready to help the team, trying to score goals and create assists. This is one of my goals, although the collective is always in first place."

The Portuguese has scored two goals from seven starts and nine substitute appearances in the league.
