Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Steven Fletcher has confirmed that he has handed in a transfer request at the Championship club.
The 25-year-old is believed to have been at the centre of a tussle between Wolves and Premier League outfit Sunderland, who are thought to have had a £12m bid turned down at Molineux.
Fletcher tweeted: "Just handed in a transfer request just to let the fans know where I am at right now.... #headsgone."
Reports have claimed that the frontman handed in a written request to leave the club to Wolves manager Stale Solbakken and chief executive Jez Moxey.
It is understood that Fletcher wanted to take the matter into his own hands after the West Midlands club turned down another offer from the Black Cats.
