Kenny Jackett: 'It's an important week for Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett acknowledges that his side need to pick up points in their three remaining fixtures before the international break.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has admitted that he is keen to move away from the relegation zone before the international break.

Two wins from seven games have left Wolves languishing in 18th place in the Championship standings, and Jackett has acknowledged that he is hoping for an improved run of results against Preston North End, Fulham and Huddersfield Town.

The 53-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "You want your own individual performance to be right, first and foremost, I think there's been a balanced view of where we've been and where we are. Similarly, the next week is a very important one for us.

"We're in a position that we don't want to be, there's nine points up for grabs in a short space of time so the determination is there from the players to focus on these games and try and get a good haul of points before the international break after the Huddersfield game.

"For the players it is quite a tightrope mentally between determination and confidence."

Wolves must avoid defeat against Preston to remain ahead of their hosts, who currently occupy a place in the bottom three.
