Paul Lambert: Fulham game "heart-attack material"

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert describes his side's 4-4 draw with Fulham as "heart-attack material".

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert has described his side's 4-4 draw with Fulham at Molineux on Saturday as "heart-attack material".

The hosts were 3-1 down after the first half but fought back to level the scores before taking the lead through Dave Edwards in the last minute of normal time.

Lambert's men looked certain for the three points until Floyd Ayite struck in the fourth minute of time added-on to ensure that the spoils were shared.

"It's mixed emotions," Lambert told the Wolves website. "It's not often you see these type of games - but that's exciting football. It was reminiscent of when I was Norwich. Game that like - exciting games, the crowd, everybody bang at it.

"I'm proud of them - I thought they were outstanding. And the crowd are unbelievable with us. We're a young team up against a very good side, but in that second half we were outstanding. And what a place this is when you've got a game like that. I can't fault the team. That's why you play the game. It's heart-attack material.

"We've got to be stronger defensively. We look a threat going forward but we have to be stronger as a unit, not just at the back. That'll come. They're young lads and with young lads you get mistakes - but you also get desire. It's marrying the two. I think we're a lot better than when I first came in. We need a little bit of help, lads with know-how in the league. But they're talented and they're young."

Next up for Wolves is a trip to Neil Warnock's Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
