Mick McCarthy is cautious ahead of Wolves's game with Spurs.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has said he is remaining cautious despite an impressive start to the season.

The Midlands side currently sit fifth in the table after taking seven points from three games, but McCarthy described the current rankings as "cock eyed".

"We had Blackburn who we equally in the mire with us at the end of last season, and we had Fulham who had played on the Thursday before we played them," he told the club's official website. "Then we played the Villa that have had a changearound.

"We played well and I am pleased but I am not getting carried away."

Wolves next face Spurs, who have lost both games this season, at the Molineux tomorrow.

"I think our start, while not being disrespectful to the other teams, hasn't seen us play Manchester City or Manchester United, like Tottenham have," added McCarthy.

"They are streets ahead of us with Premier League experience. So we are playing a top six side smarting from two defeats against arguably the best teams in the league who are flying at the minute."

Spurs are currently bottom of the league with a game in hand.
