Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Danny Batth: 'We 1000% care'

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Danny Batth insists that the players "1000% care" after the club extend their winless run in the Championship to five games.

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Danny Batth has insisted that the squad "1000% care" about the club's plight after they fell to 11 points adrift of the Championship playoff places.

The Midlands side lost 2-1 to Preston North End over the weekend to extend their winless run to five league games and leave promotion looking unlikely with 15 games of the season still to go.

The home crowd were vocal with their displeasure at the end of the match, but Batth claimed that the poor results are not for the lack of trying.

"We 1,000% care as much as the fans," he told Wolves Player. "The lads are out there working hard in training, leaving no stone unturned, making sure we're as well drilled as we can be.

"It's a hard-working group. We're not playing without the passion or desire that the fans warrant.

"I appreciate the fans' concerns. Us on the pitch have to take responsibility and make sure we give them something to be proud of."

Manager Kenny Jackett also acknowledged the "anger" of the fans following the defeat at Molineux, where Wolves have managed just four wins all season.
