Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has told his players that talks over new contracts will not begin until the season is underway.
Defender Sam Ricketts is among those entering the final year of their current deals at Molineux, and he has recently expressed his desire to remain at the club, but talks over extending his current stay have been put on hold.
"It's great Sam feels that way because he's settled in very well at the club both on and off the pitch," Jackett told the Express & Star.
"His challenge, like all of us, is to have a successful August and September. That's what we're focusing on at the moment and Sam's a big part of that.
"We'll see where we are through August and September, definitely. So there's been nothing yet. He's just over halfway through his contract and he's done very well for us."
Wolves, who were promoted to the Championship last season, kick off their campaign at home to Norwich City next weekend.
