Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ben Marshall has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Sunderland.
Marshall made the move to Molineux 12 months ago and although the 26-year-old made an impact under Paul Lambert, he has been frozen out by Nuno Espirito Santo.
The former Blackburn Rovers man has not featured for the Championship leaders since November, and Wolves are keen to get the player off the wage bill before the end of the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports News, Sunderland boss Chris Coleman wants to add Marshall to his squad but the Black Cats would prefer a loan deal until the end of the campaign.
Wolves have signalled their intent to push for the sale of Marshall, and the West Midlands outfit may be prepared to wait until the end of the month to see if any more offers are made for the wideman's services.
Marshall has scored twice in 22 league appearances for Wolves.
