Wolverhampton Wanderers agree Mike Williamson fee

Wolverhampton Wanderers announce that they have agreed a fee to sign Newcastle United centre-back Mike Williamson, who had a loan spell at Molineux earlier in the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they have had a bid accepted by Newcastle United for Mike Williamson.

The centre-back made five appearances during a loan stint at Molineux earlier in the season.

He will now travel back down to the Midlands, where it is expected that he will sign an 18-month contract.

"He made an excellent impact while on loan and brought his considerable experience and leadership to the back four," head coach Kenny Jackett told the club's official website.

"We will be pleased to secure his services and are looking forward to getting him back here and making another positive impact on the team."

Williamson, 32, joined Newcastle from Portsmouth for an undisclosed fee in January 2010.
