Wolverhampton Wanderers 'close in on Cambridge United keeper'

Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to be close to signing goalkeeper Will Norris from League Two outfit Cambridge United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close to a deal for Cambridge United goalkeeper Will Norris.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side had already been in the market for new stoppers this summer after deciding to let Andy Lonergan leave but have been forced to bring in one more recruit between the sticks following the devastating news that first-choice keeper Carl Ikeme has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

Earlier today the club announced the capture of former Norwich City stopper John Ruddy on a two-year deal and according to the Express & Star, another arrival is imminent in the form of Norris.

The 23-year-old was first choice at League Two Cambridge last season and played against Wolves in the EFL Cup, saving a penalty at Molineux during a 2-1 win for the hosts.

Norris has been with Cambridge since 2012 and has two years remaining on his current contract.
