Wolverhampton Wanderers: 'Bakary Sako staying'

Wolverhampton Wanderers insist that Bakary Sako will not join Nottingham Forest in January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jex Moxey has revealed that winger Bakary Sako will not be leaving the club to join Nottingham Forest on loan in January.

Sako was thought to be close to a loan deal with Forest that could have seen him move permanently in the summer, but Moxey said that the terms of the deal did not suit the club.

"Our position has been firm but consistent - we don't want to lose Bakary Sako," BBC Sport quotes Moxey as saying.

"We took the decision to cease all discussions with Nottingham Forest, not because they didn't meet our valuation, but because the terms surrounding the offer were unrealistic."

Sako joined Wolves in 2012 from Saint-Etienne.
