Friday's League Two predictions including Wrexham vs. Mansfield

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League Two fixtures, including Wrexham vs. Mansfield.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Harrogate (Friday, 3.00pm)

AFC Wimbledon will take on Harrogate Town in a crucial match in the race for the playoff spots in League Two at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The hosts will head into this match with 58 points, two points off the top seven teams, while the visitors are on 54 points, though they have played a game less than their opponents.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Harrogate Town

Wimbledon are the favourites heading into this match, but they are going up against a Harrogate side that are unbeaten in their last three and hold the league's second-best away record this term, which includes just one loss in their last ten games on the road. We are expecting a close encounter here and feel that there will be nothing to split these two at the final whistle.

Accrington vs. Morecambe (Friday, 3.00pm)

Accrington Stanley host Morecambe at the Wham Stadium on Friday afternoon in a game between two sides who appear destined to ply their trade in League Two yet again next season.

The hosts are 16th heading into this game, 17 points above relegation and nine away from the playoffs, while the visitors are four points better off in 12th.

We say: Accrington Stanley 1-1 Morecambe

Both sides are heading into this game off the back of a really disappointing run of results in the league, and we expect the two teams to fail in their search for victory in this one.

Three of the past five meetings between these two sides have ended in a share of the spoils, and we expect this to become the fourth draw in six matches between the two.

Barrow vs. Grimsby Town (Friday, 3.00pm)

Barrow will welcome Grimsby Town to Holker Street on Friday for a game of major importance at both ends of the League Two table.

The hosts are looking to consolidate their spot in the playoff zone, while their visitors are six points above the drop zone.

We say: Barrow 1-0 Grimsby Town

Barrow's strong home form and Grimsby's away woes favor a home win. Though, the away side's need for points adds intrigue but a tight game with Barrow edging it 1-0 is what we expect.

Bradford vs. Tranmere (Friday, 3.00pm)

The action continues in round 41 of the League Two as Bradford City and Tranmere Rovers go head to head at the University of Bradford Stadium on Friday.

Both sides are currently level on points in the table and will be looking to make a late charge for the playoff places in the final weeks of the season.

We say: Bradford City 1-1 Tranmere Rovers

Bradford City have run out of steam at the business end of the season and will head into the weekend in search of a pick-me-up. However, we predict Tranmere will do just enough to force a share of the spoils at the University of Bradford Stadium.

Colchester vs. Newport (Friday, 3.00pm)

Round 41 of the 2023-24 League Two season sees Colchester United and Newport County go head-to-head at the Colchester Community Stadium on Friday.

The hosts will be looking to exact revenge on their visitors following a narrow 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture back in early October.

We say: Colchester United 2-1 Newport County

With two porous defences going head-to-head, we expect neither of the teams to come away with a clean sheet here. That said, we also fancy the home side to get the job done at the end of the 90 minutes.

Crawley vs. Doncaster (Friday, 3.00pm)

Crawley Town will be hoping to maintain their place in League Two's play-off spots when they host Doncaster Rovers on Good Friday.

Doncaster, meanwhile, have moved away from relegation danger with three straight victories in recent weeks.

We say: Crawley Town 1-1 Doncaster Rovers

No team in League Two has accrued as many points (13) as these two sides in their past six matches, meaning we expect to see a high-quality encounter play out at the Broadfield Stadium on Friday.

Crawley's form has actually been stronger away from home than at home of late, meaning we can envisage the visitors nicking a point to maintain their unbeaten run.

Forest Green vs. Stockport (Friday, 3.00pm)

Strugglers Forest Green Rovers will be hoping to cause a major upset when they host promotion-chasing Stockport County on Good Friday.

Forest Green fell to the bottom of the table when losing last time out, while Stockport will head into this match two points behind Mansfield Town at the summit.

We say: Forest Green Rovers 0-4 Stockport County

Stockport's emphatic victory against their promotion rivals MK Dons last time out could prove to be a hugely important one, not least as it is likely to breathe new fire into their final eight matches of the season.

Forest Green have lost successive games in recent weeks and we would be amazed if that is not extended to three by the time the referee's full-time whistle blows on Friday, and they may be lucky to avoid a thrashing.

Gillingham vs. Crewe (Friday, 3.00pm)

Play-off chasers Gillingham and Crewe Alexandra will be desperate to claim a victory when they meet at Priestfield Stadium on Good Friday.

Gillingham will head into this contest outside of the top seven positions on goal difference, with Crewe six points ahead of their forthcoming opponents with a game in hand.

We say: Gillingham 1-1 Crewe Alexandra

Despite their relatively lofty positions in League Two's table, neither team have been in particularly good form of late, winning just two matches from their last 10 games combined.

As such, we can envisage both managers being content with avoiding defeat on Friday, as they look to remain in contention to claim one of the four play-off spots on offer.

MK Dons vs. Walsall (Friday, 3.00pm)

Two teams with League Two promotion aspirations will meet this Friday for a bank holiday encounter of high importance to their individual campaigns.

MK Dons will play host to Walsall, with both teams attempting to get back to winning ways after a disappointing previous outing.

We say: MK Dons 1-1 Walsall

Both teams are aiming to be promoted out of League Two this season, and that makes matches like this crucially important, but can also lead to cautious displays.

Considering they are each coming into this one on the back of poor performances, it could be a case of taking a point that is better than gambling for all three.

Salford City vs. Sutton (Friday, 3.00pm)

There will be a crucial match at the bottom of League Two this week as Salford City play host to Sutton United, with each team trying to make it a Good Friday for their respective fans.

With the visitors in the relegation zone, and the hosts sitting just four places above them there is plenty on the line in this one.

We say: Salford City 2-1 Sutton United

Sutton has been stringing some good results together lately, and they are in greater need of points in the fight for survival.

However, the hosts have been strong recently as well, and with Salford boasting the home advantage here they could just get over the line and take all three points.

Swindon vs. Notts County (Friday, 3.00pm)

A general shot of a football from May 2022© Reuters

There will be a bottom half of the League Two table clash this Friday when Swindon Town host Notts County in a bid to push away further from the relegation zone.

The visitors might be aiming to finish in the top 12, but after recently slipping up against a team below them in the division there will be no room for complacency here.

We say: Swindon Town 0-2 Notts County

Both teams have struggled with putting together consistent performances this season, which is reflected by their current league standings.

However, Notts County does head into the game as the favourites despite losing their most recent outing, with the team boasting enough quality to get the job done here.

Wrexham vs. Mansfield (Friday, 3.00pm)

It is a crucial top-of-the-table clash this Friday as current League Two leaders Mansfield Town will make the journey to the Racecourse Ground as they play third-placed Wrexham.

The Welsh-based club is hoping to continue their Hollywood journey with consecutive promotions, and three points could see them heading into Easter sitting joint on points with their opponents.

We say: Wrexham 2-1 Mansfield Town

This promises to be a closely contested game due to how much is on the line when it comes to the League Two promotion battle, and their previous encounters this season have showcased that there is little to split them.

However, with Wrexham boasting a home advantage and the confidence that Mansfield has been unable to beat them this season, it could be Parkinson's men that edges this one.
