Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson dissatisfied with point

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson insists that his side should have defeated Charlton Athletic following the 2-2 draw between the teams.

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has expressed his frustration with his side's 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic in the Championship.

The Glovers boss praised his players for overturning a two-goal deficit to salvage a point, but admitted that the performance was lacking overall.

"We had opportunities to get more from the game but we didn't show enough intent in the first half. It took us to be 2-0 down before we got going," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying.

"The overall quality wasn't good enough. I'm pleased we've come back to draw but it was an opportunity missed because of our poor start. We can't do that in the Championship as teams get the momentum and it's hard to wrestle it back."

He added: "I'm pleased we didn't lose and the boys did show character, but if you show that character in the first minute then you won't lose many football matches."

Yeovil went into the break 2-0 down, but an own goal from Michael Morrison and a penalty by Ishmael Miller rescued a point for Johnson's men.
