Andre Villas-Boas delighted with Zenit St Petersburg performance

Andre Villas-Boas reveals his delight after watching Zenit St Petersburg reach the top of Group H with a 2-1 win over Gent.

Andre Villas-Boas has paid tribute to his Zenit St Petersburg players after their 2-1 victory over Gent in the Champions League.

Goals from Artem Dzyuba and Oleg Shatov clinched the points as Zenit recorded successive wins in the competition to climb to the top of Group H.

Villas-Boas was quick to reveal his delight before switching his focus to extending their promising start in the group.

"We had a fantastic match and fully deserved to win. We had a lot of chances. No problems there," the Zenit head coach told reporters.

"While it is difficult to talk about the prospects ahead of the next four matches, we are waiting for the Lyon game, after which it would be great to score nine points.

"I do not think that this is impossible, we will try. If we manage to win the next game, we will have a very good position in the group."

Zenit continue their Champions League campaign against Lyon on October 20.
