Lewis Hamilton has expressed his appreciation to his fans after securing pole position at the British Grand Prix.
The Mercedes driver crossed the finish line with the fastest qualifying time of 1:26.600, and he was quick to thank the home support at Silverstone after the race.
"I feel amazing, especially with a great crowd like this all around the track. Thank you guys, so much," he told reporters.
"This is definitely the best position to start from. I need to make sure I do it tomorrow for these fans"
Hamilton's time was half a second faster than second-placed Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari, and seven tenths up on title rival Sebastian Vettel and teammate Valtteri Bottas in third and fourth, respectively.
