England netball side end tour with drawn series against New Zealand

The England netball team end their series 1-1 with New Zealand following their 2-0 defeat to Australia.

England failed to secure their first series win over New Zealand after the Silver Ferns fought back to draw level last week.

Anna Mayes's England side started the series strongly by grabbing a 42-38 triumph on Tuesday, but faced a tougher test on Friday.

New Zealand edged in front to reach the half-time interval 26-21 up, and while England came out firing in the third quarter, they eventually succumbed to a 52-38 loss.

The Silver Ferns retained the Taini Jamieson trophy with Cathrine Latu scoring 26 from 28, while England's tour ended in disappointment following their 2-0 series defeat to Australia last month.
