Olivier Giroud apologises for affair

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud apologises on Twitter after he caught having an affair by a national newspaper.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has taken to Twitter to issue an apology after he was caught having an affair in a hotel room.

The Frenchman was pictured in his underwear by The Sun, and the forward moved to claim that he will have to "fight for forgiveness" following the revelations.

He wrote: "I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, teammates and Arsenal fans.

"I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment."

Giroud's side host Liverpool in the FA Cup this afternoon.
