Hull City's Tom Huddlestone: 'I wish I could change afro bet'

Hull City's Tom Huddlestone says that his bet to grow his hair until he scores has got a "bit out of hand".

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone has admitted that his bet to raise money for Cancer Research has got a "bit out of hand".

The 26-year-old wagered that he will keep growing his hair until he scores for the first time since April 20, 2011.

"I wish I could change my mind, but it is settled for Cancer Research now, a charity I chose because I have lost a few family and friends to it over the years," the Daily Mail quotes Huddlestone as saying.

"It started with a bit of fun with my friends back in Nottingham when I first got injured. Now it has got a bit out of hand but it is for a good cause and I have raised a decent amount of money, about £12k."

Huddlestone joined Hull from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £6m in August.
