Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers met the Queen on Tuesday evening while attending an event dedicated to charity Diabetes UK.
The Northern Irishman was joined by his 19-year-old daughter Mischa, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was seven years old, at the event at St James' Palace in London.
"An event like this shows the seriousness of diabetes," the Daily Mail quotes Rodgers as saying. "If someone like the Queen is patron of the charity and is celebrating the work that it does."
The Queen, who is a patron of the charity, shook hands with the Liverpool boss and his daughter while meeting the guests.
The event was to mark the 80th anniversary of Diabetes UK.
