Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito has returned to Twitter just two days after leaving the social media website.
Incognito bade farewell to the site on Saturday in the wake of an NFL report that found him guilty of harassing his teammate Jonathan Martin in a high-profile bullying case.
The 30-year-old's final tweet before saying goodbye was directed at Ted Wells, who carried out the investigation, but his self-imposed exile was a brief one as he returned to apologise for his recent behaviour.
"What's up TWITTER. Happy Monday. I apologize for acting like a big baby the last few days. This has all been so much on me and my family. I just want to play football," Incognito wrote.
Incognito was suspended by the Dolphins in November and will become a free agent in March.
