Steve McNamara excited for biggest World Cup

England coach Steve McNamara is encouraged by organisers' preparations for the forthcoming World Cup.

England coach Steve McNamara has revealed how impressed he is with the preparations made by organisers of the forthcoming World Cup.

The former Bradford Bulls coach has admitted that he allowed himself a mental break from his own side's plans for the tournament and is positive about the prospects for the event.

He told The Telegraph: "As a coach I've been focusing on our preparation, trying to prepare us and maximize our performance.

"But when I sit back and look at what the World Cup people are doing as well and seeing their preparation and what they've put into the event, it was really encouraging."

McNamara may cast nervous eye on Saturday's Super League Grand Final between Wigan and Warrington with several England players taking part, including full-back Sam Tomkins in his last game for the Warriors.
