Shaun Wane confirms that Sam Tomkins recovered from illness ahead of Wigan Warriors' Super League clash with Huddersfield Giants on Friday.

Wigan Warriors full-back Sam Tomkins will return for Friday's clash with Huddersfield Giants at the DW Stadium, coach Shaun Wane has confirmed.

The 24-year-old missed last Friday's 21-16 win over Hull KR with an illness, which Wane has put down to food poisoning.

"Sam is good," PA quotes the 48-year-old as saying. "He had a bit of food poisoning, a 24-hour bug. It was just bad timing.

"We have got a few little knocks and bruises that we'll need to check on. It'll be late on that I select my team - which is quite common.

"It is just that stage of the season - 20-odd rounds when you get week-in, week-out knocks."

Huddersfield lead Wigan and Warrington Wolves at the top of the Super League table by one point.
