Shaun Wane calls on Wigan Warriors fans

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane urges fans to get behind the team on Saturday for their Challenge Cup quarter-final against Castleford Tigers.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has called on fans to get behind the team this weekend for their Challenge Cup quarter-final at home to Castleford Tigers.

The Warriors continue the defence of their title on Saturday when they welcome the in-form Tigers to the DW Stadium.

Wane hopes that the Wigan supporters can create an atmosphere that will intimidate their opponents in the last eight.

"Our fans have a role to play. They have been fantastic while we have been away from the DW, especially at Magic in Manchester where it sounded like a home game," he told the club's official website.

"I would like them to be our 18th man on Saturday. The ideal would be to make the DW not an enjoyable place for opponents to visit."

Wigan won a record 19th Challenge Cup last season with a 16-0 victory over Hull FC in the final.
