Bath thrashed by Glasgow Warriors

Mark Bennett scores two tries to lead Glasgow Warriors to a 37-10 win over Bath in the European Rugby Champions Cup.

Glasgow Warriors have crushed Bath 37-10 in their opening match of the new European Rugby Champions Cup this afternoon.

Mark Bennett scored an early try for the Scottish side, but Jonathan Joseph got the visitors back on level terms within two minutes after a quick move by Bath.

The home side looked more threatening with the ball, but struggled to create any further try-scoring opportunities early on, leaving Duncan Weir to kick two penalties.

The Warriors had a strong spell of possession shortly before the break, resulting in tries for Sean Maitland and Tommy Seymour which took them 13 points up at half time.

Nikola Matawala ended any hopes of a Bath comeback after the break as he went over for Glasgow's fourth try of the day, before Bennett picked up his second inside the final 10 minutes as Bath had no answer.
