Bath coach Toby Booth has admitted that he is pleased to have ended a poor run against Gloucester Rugby with a win in the Aviva Premiership on Friday.
The hosts earned a 31-25 victory at the Recreation Ground to give them a first triumph over their local rivals in three seasons.
"It wasn't just because we know how important it is playing Gloucester," Booth told Sky Sports News. "I read that they've won the last five times that they've been here so it was important to break that cycle.
"In the context of the season, we knew that the end of February and March were going to be very important. We had a good opportunity to bridge the gap at Northampton last week and didn't. We had to bounce back today."
The win has lifted Bath to within four points of the playoff places in the table.
