British and Irish Lions doctor James Robson reveals that skipper Sam Warburton is nearing a return to the team following a knee injury.

British and Irish Lions doctor James Robson has revealed that skipper Sam Warburton is on the road to recovery after missing the win over Barbarians on Saturday with a knee injury.

The Lions next face Western Force in a warm-up match on June 5, with the 24-year-old expected to be available to take part.

"Sam is progressing well. He is subject to further assessment and we will give our recommendation to the coaches," Robson told BBC Sport.

It is understood that Lions players lost on average two kilograms in the 94% humidity on Saturday.
