England centre Jonathan Joseph could make Australia clash

Centre Jonathan Joseph, who returned to training on Tuesday, may be in with a chance of recovering from injury before England's clash against Australia on Saturday.

Jonathan Joseph has returned to England training ahead of the Red Rose's clash against Australia on Saturday.

The outside centre missed England's 25-28 defeat to Wales due to a pectoral muscle injury but could recover in time to face the Wallabies.

"Jonathan walked through this morning with us and is due to train this afternoon. We will see if he plays a full part," backs coach Mike Catt told reporters on Tuesday.

On Thursday's team announcement, Catt added: "We will see who is fit and healthy on Thursday and make a final decision.

"Whoever we decide to select or whoever is fit, we have total belief we can go and score tries against teams. Australia love an open game, but we are also capable of scoring tries."

England, who also have injury worries over Courtney Lawes and Ben Youngs, currently sit in third place in Pool A, three points behind both Wales and Saturday's opponents Australia.
