Richard Cockerill: 'Playoff race will be tight'

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill believes that the race for the final playoff places in the Aviva Premiership will be a "tight battle".

Richard Cockerill has said that he expects the race for the final Aviva Premiership playoff places to be a "tight battle".

With most teams still having two matches to play, Saracens and Northampton Saints have already claimed their playoffs spots, while Bath Rugby and Leicester Tigers currently complete the top four.

The defending champions' director of rugby told Sky Sports News: "We have still got a semi-final spot to aim for and we were a bit disappointed with how we played at Quins in the last round.

"Sale Sharks have been doing well and are also potentially still looking at the top four in the table. It's going to be a tight battle for those places with just two rounds to play."

Leicester face Sale tomorrow.
