Andy Titterrell announces retirement

London Welsh hooker Andy Titterrell targets a coaching role after announcing his retirement from rugby.

Former England international Andy Titterrell has confirmed his retirement from all forms of rugby with immediate effect.

The 33-year-old, who turned out for England on five occasions, had most recently been playing for London Welsh.

However, the hooker is now keen to take on a coaching role.

"I hope to move forward now and make the transition into a specialist skills and strength and conditioning coach so that I can pass on my understanding," said Titterrell.

Titterrell was part of the British and Irish Lions squad that toured New Zealand in 2005.
