Northampton Saints have beaten London Wasps 57-10 in the LV Cup at Franklin's Gardens this afternoon.
Saints fly-half Stephen Myler's early penalty put the hosts ahead, before he then converted Hooker Long's try to extend their lead to ten.
While James Craig crossed the line for another five points, Will Robinson was able to put Wasps on the board before that break. However, Northampton hit back in the closing minutes when Jamie Elliot added another five to their total to hand them a 19-point lead at the half.
Myler converted a penalty try after 15 minutes of second-half action, before convering a couple of tries from Noah Cato and then Elliot again as they entered the final ten minutes in Northampton.
Substitute Joe Simpson scored a late try for the London side, but despite Nicky Robinson's conversion, the hosts still held a 33-point lead.
Alex Waller and then Cato ensured that Northampton had the last laugh, adding another five points each with less than three minutes to go to give their side an unassailable 57 points.
