Tom Wood says that Northampton Saints must make the most of their chance of becoming the Aviva Premiership champions against Leicester Tigers at the weekend.

Northampton Saints flanker Tom Wood has urged his teammates to seize their opportunity of winning the Aviva Premiership final on Saturday.

The Saints have made it to the final for the first time ever, having been beaten in the semi-finals for the past three seasons, and face Leicester Tigers at Twickenham.

While Tigers are the favourites for the match, Wood insists that Saints' win over Saracens in the last four proves that they can cause an upset.

"This isn't just another game. This is do or die for us," Wood told BBC Sport. "We've spent a long time trying to get to this point and come up short before. It's Twickenham, an East Midlands derby - there's a lot at stake.

"We can't depend on the fact we may be here next year or down the line," added 18-time England cap Wood. "We've got our opportunity, we've fought hard and given ourselves a chance. Now we need to take it.

"The supporters stood by us all year even though we've had an up-and-down season. They could have easily bailed but it's a sell-out at Twickenham."

Northampton have failed to beat Leicester in their last six clashes.
