Dan Lydiate completes Ospreys dual contract move

Wales flanker Dan Lydiate admits that he is "delighted" to have completed his dual contract switch from Racing Metro to the Ospreys.

Dan Lydiate has said that he is "looking forward" to representing the Ospreys, having completed his dual contract move from Racing Metro.

The 26-year-old flanker joins Wales teammate Sam Warburton on a National Dual Contract, which Dragons chiefs hope will reverse the exodus of top talent to England and France.

After being released by Racing for an immediate return to Wales, Lydiate is free to start training with the Ospreys this week.

Speaking to reporters after the move was finalised, he said: "I am delighted to have secured a National Dual Contract and I am looking forward to doing my best for the Ospreys while I aim to win selection for Wales.

"Having a National Dual Contract gives me the certainty I need for my future and I will now be able to concentrate 100% on my rugby.

"I enjoyed my time with Racing Metro but this is the right move for me as I want to achieve my full potential as a player based here in Wales."

Lydiate joined Racing from Newport Gwent Dragons last summer after seven years at the club, but failed to truly settle in France.
