Mike Phillips: Luke Charteris exit would be "massive loss" for Racing 92

Luke Charteris's proposed move to Bath would represent a "massive loss" for Racing 92, according to his club and Wales teammate Mike Phillips.

Scrum-half Mike Phillips has claimed that it would be a "massive loss" for Racing 92 if teammate Luke Charteris leaves for Bath Rugby at the end of this season.

The 6'9" Wales lock has reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Premiership club.

"If we do lose his talents then obviously it is a massive loss. He is one of Wales's best players at the moment," Phillips is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"There are not many 6'9" guys who can make as many tackles as he makes - 18 or 20 tackles [a game]. He carries balls, he scrummages well, he can do everything on the rugby field and is such an athlete."

Charteris's contract with the French side expires at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
