South Africa captain Jean de Villiers has revealed that his side were disappointed not to beat England after Saturday's 14-14 draw in Port Elizabeth.
Despite already winning the series following two previous victories over the tourists, Owen Farrell's late penalty made sure that the Springboks did not seal a series whitewash.
"Credit to England, they played well but it was disappointing for us," De Villiers told Sky Sports News.
"I thought we weren't good enough tonight. We will have to look hard at ourselves.
"At least we didn't lose the game, that is the only positive we can take out of this."
De Villiers was recently named as the South African skipper for the remainder of the year.
