Wales captain Sam Warburton excited by England opener at Six Nations

Wales captain Sam Warburton admits that welcoming England to Cardiff is a "brilliant" way to start the Six Nations.

Wales captain Sam Warburton has admitted that hosting England is a "brilliant" way for his team to start the Six Nations.

The British rivals go head to head in Cardiff on February 6 in what is sure to be a feisty and hard-fought encounter.

Following plenty of build-up to the big game, Warburton is relishing the opportunity to face England at the Millennium Stadium.

"To be playing England first, from a player's point of view, is brilliant," he told reporters. "Cardiff will be guaranteed to be bouncing all day.

"Since the November games a lot of the Welsh fans' attention turned straight away to the England game, which was two months away and for players that seems a long time away. But there's already been a lot of focus and build-up to that match and the players can sense that just from the media interest, the public.

"Walking around Cardiff and things it's one everyone's looking forward to. It is a good way to kick off the Championship."

Wales battered England 30-3 two years ago to clinch their second consecutive Six Nations title.
