Rebecca Adlington has insisted that she will not get complacent when it comes to qualifying for London 2012 at the British trials.

With only two places up for grabs, the double Olympic champion is not taking her selection for Team GB for granted.

Adlington also admitted that it is a tough task to qualify with British swimming's strength in depth.

"I just never want to get complacent," Adlington told Sky Sports News.

"It's just getting so competitive in Britain now, there's so many good girls around. There's only two spots on the team and there are five or six girls fighting for two places and you've got to swim a certain time.

"It's the biggest thing any athlete could ever hope for in their career and to miss out on that would be so devastating and disappointing, so I just want to get there and compete well."

The 22-year-old won two gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in the 400m and 800m.
